It is no coincidence that the location of the farm was chosen for a castle granary, a barn, and a hayrack during the time of the Kun\u0161perk Counts in the Middle Ages, as evidenced by the thick stone walls of the buildings that are still preserved today.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The family tradition has always been viticulture,<\/strong> and previous generations also engaged in mixed farming to a lesser extent. The farm has always been known by its home name &#8216;Marof&#8217;, and we are all known as &#8216;Marofskes&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Three generations now live at Marof: grandmother Pepca, son Simon with partner Nika and daughters Kaja, Ana, and Sonja.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In our own vineyards and wine cellar, we cultivate, mature, and bottle top-quality wines with a lot of love and manual labor. The vineyards in two nearby locations encompass seven thousand vines of various varieties, mostly Sauvignon blanc, Muscat, and Blaufrankisch. Enology and wine making are both a passion and a professional occupation for Simon, the farm&#8217;s successor, who also has extensive experience in managing a larger wine cellar abroad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We offer top-quality <a href=\"\/en\/wine\">white and red wines as well as sparkling wines<\/a>, distinguished by freshness and minerality. Some wines gain nobility through aging in wooden barrique barrels.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Marof Farm Tourism also includes several meadows, forests, and fields where we grow cereals, pumpkin seeds, and produce pumpkin oil.
